My Christmas List

What I want now? Everybody worries about getting gifts for other people this time of year (which we will cover next week), but these are the four things on my Christmas List this year.

I have wanted a faux fur vest for the longest time. After doing a lot of research and trying on a number of vests I think I have found THE ONE. Armani Exchange makes a great faux fur vest that comes in 2 different colors, black and snow. I think I prefer the snow color because it is a nice way to add winter white to your wardrobe. See the vest at http://www.armaniexchange.com/product/womens/knit+tops/faux+fur+vest.do?search=basic&keyword=vest&sortby=%3Afalse&page=1&imageName=2392.18054.5334.&sizeName= and let me know what you think. The vest is $88 but the web site has a special, $20 off your purchase of $100 or more! There are many options to choose from, including ones for under $50 at Macys. Their Inc brand has one or two options on the sale rack right now! NY&Company also has a great one for under $50 and also Charlotte Russe at http://www.charlotterusse.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4285814&CAWELAID=653334782&cm_mmc=CSE-_-FGL-_-NA-_-4285814. Express also has a cute one, http://www.express.com/minus-the-fur-belted-vest-28762-737.pro?Mft=vest&Mpper=3&Mpos=10&Mpg=SEARCH%2BNAV&Mrsaa=*&Mrsavf=SIZE_NAME&Mrsavf=category&Mrsavf=Color, plus, they always have some kind of promotion going on. Now it's $15 off a $60 purchase. Plus, if you sign up for their emails you get 15% off an order! Feel free to add different belts to your vests to change it up or even add a brooch or two (see last item on my list!)

The second item on my list is a Fair Isle Sweater. I have been seeing these sweaters everywhere! You can find them at J.Crew (that now has 25% off your entire purchase of $150 or more), the Gap (that is having buy one item and get 60% off the second item), Lucky Brand Jeans (has sweaters on sale with an additional 30% off), Banana Republic, Aerospatiale, LL Bean even Marc Jacobs, if you are feeling un-thrifty! My two favorites are the Lucky Brand Jeans sweater (which is really a wrap cardigan) http://www.luckybrand.com/Woodland-Fair-Isle-Wrap-Cardigan/LBW00741,default,pd.html?navid=search&selectedColor=960 that comes out to about $70 after the extra 30% off or the Lucky Brand Sweater Dress http://www.luckybrand.com/Topanga-Fair-Isle-Sweater-Dress/LBW00717,default,pd.html?navid=search&selectedColor=961 that comes to about $56after the extra 30% off. Plus, I love the styling of the dress with the knee high socks and boots!

This brings me to the third item on my list, knee high socks and/or leg warmers. Nothing looks cuter with tights or jeggings and knee high boots than a little bit of sock or leg warmer peeping out from the top of your boots. I think it definitely adds a little personality and is alternative to patterned tights. Juicy, Roxy and Hue all make great options, but the ones I liked I saw at Loehmanns (one of my favorite stores) for about $25 (and they are having their friends & family additional 20% off this week). They are made by Betsy Johnson and I can say that they are in the Betsy Johnson stores for full price (about $40). Actually, I found a picture on the web from some random website, http://www.village-shoes.com/store.php?item_id=4731&brand_id=301cat_id=2. How cute are the heart buttons??

The last thing on my list is brooches! I haven’t found anything I particularly like or want yet, but I have been keeping an eye out. I think it's, again, a great way to display some personality and add a little flair to a once boring outfit. The first place I would look is Overstock.com. They have a lot of options for jewelry and a huge range of pricing. Just at a quick glance I found a few I like, but this one is very cute and versatile: http://www.overstock.com/Jewelry-Watches/Red-Freshwater-Pearl-Brooch-7-7.5-mm/4511620/product.html. And don’t be close-minded! Brooches can dress up many things, from a boring black dress, to a scarf, to a hat, to a purse. Send me any good brooches you can find! I plan on adding one to my infinity scarf pronto!

Sorry I have not mastered the blogging world yet. I hope to be able to add pictures rather than just add the link. Maybe with time?
